Everyone Can Read!

I made this poster last year before the first day of school so that students were not intimidated if they weren't reading independently yet. I wanted to show them that they can read the pictures, words, or retell the story during read to self time. Students were really excited to explore the whole library and peek into any story that caught their interest. We use these sayings throughout the year as encouragement for our friends. Number Hunt Math Game

This game can be used to practice addition facts, and number recognition in dice form and in ten frame form. Students play in pairs using two sided counters as game pieces. The first student rolls two dice and adds together the two values. The student then finds the sum on the game board and places their counter on the corresponding number. If the number is already taken, their turn is over and the second partner has their turn. My students love this game and I hope yours do too!
